– The pastor of the Church Coeur d Alenein Idaho (United States), Tim Remington, left his church, when a criminal with a gun in hand shot him six timesin a parking lot, causing heavy bleeding and a collapsed lung.
Remington, was found by paramedic Eric Paul, who tried to keep him alive, inserting a temporary chest tube, to help him breathe. “We fixed the only immediate problem, which we can fix in the field. We gave him some boluses of liquid, and then it’s time to go to the hospital,” Paul said.
Within seconds of being admitted, in the emergency room of Kootenai Health, his wife Cindy arrived at the place, and they had a brief moment togetherwhere she was able to see the extent of her injuries, reports Christian Event.
“I said ‘I love you’, he said ‘I love you’, it was so hard to breathe, so hard to speak. Three times he said to tell the children, that he loved themand I said, “You know what happened?, and he shook his head, and I said, well, they shot you,” she told her husband.
A bullet entered his head
According to the news of that day, the pastor had a serious injury to his right shoulderwhich was destroyed, and of the six bullets, one entered the white tissue of his skulljust a few centimeters, for him to die, in addition to injuries to his arm, pelvis, and without damage to their vital organs, a surprising situation for specialistswho treated him.
“The main concern was the amount of blood you were losingdue to pelvic injuries. Pelvic bone fractures, you could bleed to death from a fracture on that scale,” said Dr. Bob Hollman.
In the meantime, his wife prayed and trusted that Tim’s life was in God’s handsonce he was admitted to surgeries, to stop the bleeding.
“Honestly and truly, you discover that there is a peace, which surpasses all understanding, and his name is Jesusand that’s really what happened, everything went very still,” she recounted.
“God was in control of this”
Eight hours later, the pastor woke up in the intensive care unit, and the first thing that came to mind is that God was always in control, of everything that was and was happening. “When I found out he was alive, then I knew that God was in control of this, and there was a reasonAnd I didn’t know why, but I knew he was in control, at that moment.”
The attacker, identified as Kyle Odom, was arrested two days later, after throwing papers at the White House, accusing the pastor of “being part of an alien conspiracy.” Given all this, the church that Tim leads responded with prayer, for God’s healing and forgiveness, towards Tim’s attacker.
