The medical team that cares for the president of Brazil reported that he is currently hospitalized and that he will not be discharged. Because they must evaluate the evolution of his health before starting the corresponding treatment, reports G1 Globo.
“The President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, was transferred this Wednesday night to the Vila Nova Star Hospital, in São Paulo, after being diagnosed with an intestinal obstruction condition in Brasilia. The President will initially remain hospitalized under conservative clinical treatment,” the statement said.
It was learned through the president’s son, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, that the president was intubated and will remain under observation for 3 days in Sao Paulo. “They underwent an endoscopy and also did some imaging tests. Where an obstruction was found in the intestines”, assured Flávio.
Christian leaders pray
The Minister of Education, Milton Ribeiro, offered a prayer for Bolsonaro’s health, during an act at the Anísio Teixeira National Institute of Educational Studies and Research.
“I don’t know what’s wrong with saying a prayer, since we respect faith. Brazil is a secular country, it is not an atheist country. I will ask permission and insist. Now, in a special way, I would like to pray for the life of the president, who is hospitalized,” Ribeiro said.
Likewise, Damara Alves, Minister of Women, Family and Human Rights, was also praying for the health of the president, “Pray for our president today and always,” she wrote on social networks.
Thanks to Bolsonaro citing God
In a message posted on his Twitter account, the President of Brazil thanked the shows of support during the complex moment he is going through. Bolsonaro attributes the health problems to the assassination attempt that he suffered years ago during the elections.

During the last few days, the president had been complaining of recurring pain in that area of the body. In April, Bolsonaro had already said that he could undergo another surgery due to the 2018 stabbing.
Since the attack during the elections, Bolsonaro has undergone 4 surgeries in Sao Paulo, all carried out by Antônio Luiz Macedo’s team at the Vila Nova Star Hospital.
