CHRISTIANNEWS.COM.- The wife of youth pastor Christopher Hilken committed suicide last weekend as a result of mental health problems. The woman leaves 5 children under the age of six.
Confirmation of the death of 28-year-old Paige Hilken was given by the senior pastor of the North Coast Church megachurch, Larry Osborne, in a preaching last Sunday. Who explained that Paige suffered from mental health issues, reports Christian Post.
“We live in a fallen world, but the family was able to find comfort in the fact that Paige was in the presence of the Lord now. She is no longer tormented by the demons of these thoughts and the whole feeling of fear and compulsion had taken over her,” Osborne said.

Paige’s husband, Pastor Christopher Hilken, will now care for five children under the age of six. To help him, he created a fundraising page to help the widowed father support the children and pay for his wife’s burial expenses.
So far, $544,378 has been raised, far more than the initial goal of $25,000 was budgeted for.
Months before Paige’s death, Osborne said Pastor Christopher took a break from his church duties to help his wife overcome her mental and emotional problems.
Paige Hilken had also been admitted to a psychiatric clinic in Arizona. She where she was accompanied by church leaders.
“She had just stayed at one of the best places in the country, one of the best clinics that deals with what she was going through. But unfortunately it wasn’t enough,” she stated.
Finally, Pastor Osbourne left a reflection for all Christians. “Being Christians does not make us immune to the destruction of this world and it does not make us immune to our own sin or weakness. That is why Jesus had to die for our sins, and that is why each of us will, at some point, die,” he concluded.
