PLAY DOMINIQUE
Have you ever played dominoes? When I was a boy, playing dominoes was one of my favorite pastimes. Some time ago, while visiting a family, I saw a young boy and his grandfather playing that game. Thinking back to my childhood days, a flood of memories came to mind.
The strange thing about the game of dominoes is that you win by losing. To win, you have to lose your chips. Whoever gets rid of his tiles first wins the game. You have to give to get, lose to win, be reduced to nothing to come out on top.
It’s not like baseball, tennis, or other games, where the greatest number of runs, points, or touchdowns determines the winner. Nope! In dominoes, the one who triumphs is the one who first reaches nothing.
The rule of the natural man is: Get all you can. The rule of the spiritual man should be: Give all you can. In the spiritual realm, we will only keep forever what we give.
In the Christian life many times the most significant and important victories are disguised in a defeat garb, we must reduce ourselves to nothing before becoming something. The seed that is kept in the barn molds and deteriorates, but if it is thrown on the ground it increases 30, 60 and 100 by one. …if the grain of wheat does not fall to the ground and die, it remains alone… (John 12:24).
Remember, Jess gave it all. He is our example.
Mark 15:31 “And in this way also the chief priests, mocking, said to one another, with the scribes, He saved others, so he cannot save himself.” (Although he could, he decided not to. For you and for me)
Life is like a tennis match: You can’t win if you don’t “serve” well!
Matthew 20:28 “As the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
