Prayer for Family Brothers and Brothers in Christ

We often talk about how God calls us to care for our siblings in the Bible, there is no one closer to us than our family, siblings included. In most cases we live under the same roof, we share our childhood with them, we have so many shared experiences that they know us better, whether we like it or not. So it is necessary that we always make a prayer for brothers who are part of our family but also for those who have become our brothers because of the one who gave his life for us, Christ.

That is why we also need to remember our brothers in our prayers. Raising our brothers to God is one of the greatest blessings we can give them, so here is a prayer for brothers easy so you can do it.

In the scriptures we can find that Paul and Timothy had heard about the good things that were happening in Colosse and were inspired to write a letter to the church. In their letter they explained how they were praying for the church. His example shows us how we, too, should pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ. Specifically, it shows us how we should pray when we don’t know of a specific need they have.

(Colossians 1:9-13) «For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, have not stopped praying for you, and desiring that you be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, pleasing everyone, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all his might, according to his glorious power, to all longsuffering and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has made us partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his beloved Son”

prayer for brothers

Lord, today I come before your presence to ask you to bless my brother. That I know that he is close to your heart, and that you only want the best for him. I ask you, Lord, that you fill him with your wisdom so that he may be a better man of God, and that they stand firm in the purpose for which you have called him.

Bless every step you take so that you can be a light to others. Guide him in the right direction when faced with making right or wrong decisions. Surround him with friends and family who will direct him towards you and what you want for his life, give him the demanding mind so he knows who is giving him your advice.

I ask you to put a greater amount of patience in my heart for the things that I may not like about my brothers. I also ask you to give them more patience in dealing with me. May we always put you first, and may we manifest that love that you give us to everyone around us.

Lord, I ask you to bless his future. As they go through life, I ask that you guide them on the path you have built for them and that you give them joy as they walk that path. I ask you to bless him with good friends and coworkers, that he be surrounded by people who give him love. And that I can also give and give that love that comes from you.

Thank you Lord for always being here to listen to me as I speak. Lord, I ask that you continue to hear my prayers and that my heart is always open to your voice. Thank you Lord for all my blessings, and may I continue to live a life that makes you smile and gives you nothing but joy. In the name of Jesus, amen.
