Verses about marriage
In (Ephesians 5:29 and 26) “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church, and gave himself up for her, to sanctify her, having cleansed her with the washing of water by the word, so that to present it to himself, a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that it be holy and without blemish. So also husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.”
God wants unity, a marriage under the covering and protection of the Lord Jesus, and the best way to have a successful marriage is for both of you to put God first. Knowing his word and doing everything with faith.

What the husband should do
The husband is who should be the protector of his family. He must permanently care for her wife and have a life of prayer for her and her children, he is the one who must lead the spiritual priesthood of the family together with her wife. Both have to be alert always breaking all the ties of the enemy with prayer; covering themselves with the blood of Christ and declaring the word of God to live in victory, the one that Christ delivered to us on the cross.
(1 Peter 3:6-8) “How Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. From her you have come to make daughters, if you do her good without having any threat. You, husbands, likewise, live with them wisely, giving honor to the woman as a more fragile vessel and as joint heirs of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.”
We can clearly see that Sara obeys her husband since she called him sir; so God is demanding in this passage that we be like Sarah that we become as her daughters to do what is right. Not being afraid of what our husbands might do. Fulfilling God’s will is the purpose of wives.
But husbands must honor their wives, live to treat them with understanding. Since they, although they may be weaker, participate equally in the gift of life that God has given them. Therefore, they must treat it as God commands so that nothing interferes in prayers and the word of God is fulfilled in marriages.
Functions delegated by the bible to the husband and wife in marriage
We can see here a principle which is very important in married life. The wife is commanded to be respectful of her husband; because God has placed him as the leader of the home and the husbands are ordered to be understanding and kind to them; for a husband’s prayers are hindered when they have treated their wives harshly. The man has the obligation to treat his wife with love and gentleness so that the heavens will remain open. And overcome all hindrance of the enemy in prayers.

Father God, I thank you for having placed a great person in my path. I am grateful that you have never abandoned us in times of adversity, because with you by our side we have always managed to overcome evil.
