Bless, my soul, Jehovah.
Jehovah, my God, how great you are!
You have clothed yourself with glory and majesty.
You are the one who covers himself with light as with clothing,
that spreads the heavens like a curtain,
He who puts the beams of his upper rooms in the waters,
the one who makes the clouds his chariot,
he who walks on the wings of the wind,
he who makes his angels spirits
and to the flames of fire his ministers.
He founded the earth on its foundations;
it will never be removed.
With the abyss, as with a dress, you covered her;
over the Monts it was the waters.
At your rebuke they fled;
at the sound of your thunder they rushed;
the mountains rose, the valleys descended,
to the place that you founded them.
You set limits for them, which they will not cross,
nor will they cover the earth again.
You are the one who sends the springs down the streams;
They go between the mountains.
They give drink to all the beasts of the field;
wild asses quench their thirst.
Along with them live the birds of the skies;
They sing among the branches.
He waters the mountains from his chambers;
From the fruit of his works the earth is satisfied.
He makes grass grow for the beasts,
and plants for the service of man,
to get bread from the earth,
and the wine that gladdens the heart of man,
and the oil that makes the face shine,
and the bread that sustains the heart of man.
The trees of Jehovah are filled with sap,
the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.
There the birds nest;
The stork makes its home in the cypresses.
The high mountains are for the ibex;
the rocks, for rabbit holes.
He made the moon for the times;
the sun knows its sunset.
You put the darkness, and it is night;
in it run all the beasts of the jungle.
The lions roar after their prey,
and seek their food from God.
The sun rises, they collect themselves,
and they lie down in their dens.
The man goes out to his work,
and their tillage until evening.
How numerous are your works, O Jehovah!
You have made them all with wisdom;
the earth is full of your creations.
This is the great and wide sea,
where there are innumerable beings,
small and large beings.
There sail the ships,
and the leviathan you made for me to play on.
They all wait on you
so that you give them food in due time.
You give them and they collect;
you open your hand and they are satisfied with good.
You hide your face, they are disturbed;
you take their breath away, they perish
and return to dust.
You send your spirit, they are created,
and you renew the face of the earth.
Be the glory of Jehovah forever;
let Jehovah rejoice in his works.
He looks at the earth, and it trembles;
He touches the mountains, and they smoke.
I will sing to Jehovah in my life;
I will sing praises to my God as long as I live.
May my meditation be pleasing to him;
I will rejoice in the Lord.
Sinners be consumed from the earth
and the wicked cease to be.
Bless, my soul, Jehovah.
Hallelujah!
