Prayer from Psalm 141 – I cry out loud to the Lord (Explanation)

The psalm 141 it is David’s, it expresses the need for his voice to be heard, so that his heart does not incline to bad things. Because he does not want to do impious works, from the hand of those who commit iniquity, nor eat his delights.

In this he acknowledges that being punished by the just is a favor, but that his prayer will not stop against evil. He asks himself so that Jehovah does not forsake his soul, that he keep him from the ties that have been set for him, and that the wicked fall into his own nets.

🙏Prayer Psalm 141🙏

Jehovah, I have cried to you; hurry to me;
give ears to my voice when I call on you.

May my prayer be placed before you like incense,
the raising of my hands as the evening offering.

Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord;
guard the door of my lips.

Don’t let my heart turn to a bad thing,
to do bad deeds
with those who work iniquity;
and I do not eat of their delicacies.

May the just punish me, it will be a favor,
and that he rebukes me, it will be an excellent balm
that will not reject my head,
because even my prayer will be against their wickedness.

When their judges are thrown into rocky places,
they will hear my words, which are pleasant.

Like someone who plows and breaks the earth,
our bones are scattered to the mouth of Seol.

Therefore, O Lord, Lord, to you my eyes look;
in you I have trusted; do not forsake my soul.

Save me from the traps that have been set for me,
and from the lures of those who do iniquity.

Let the wicked fall together in their nets,
while I move on.
