Prayer to control my character

With pleasure I turn to You, blessed Lord. In You I always see the Father who listens to every word I say and watches over my every step in life. Today I want to prostrate myself before You with the certainty that you will hear my words and you will fulfill what I ask of you at the time you consider right.

Hear my plea, my God, make me an instrument of your love. And in the world where I live, grant me the opportunity to practice your word constantly, every moment, to feel that my existence really has a meaning and a true purpose.

Throughout my life I have realized that during the discussions that may arise, my reactions, most of the time, have been very negative. Well, I answered wrong people with whom I have had a disagreement.

And I have also responded offensively, causing harm not only to colleagues or acquaintances, but also to my friends. But, above all, my Father, I have done wrong against my relatives, who have always been there for me, giving me their support.

That situation is unfair, I realize, dear God. Well, they are the people who care about me the most at every moment, seeking my well-being and giving me advice to prevent me from falling prey to suffering and despair.

That is why I ask you, Most Holy Lord, to allow me to control the bad character that I now have, so that my actions from now on are more constructive, always thinking of others and how I will make them feel, so that in this way I can prevent offenses to those who love me.

And in general, Lord, I want my character to be kinder, so that the relationships that I establish with people at any time and place of the day, whether with acquaintances or with friends, can now be better and free of aggression.

Spread your kindness throughout the world, teaching your sons and daughters that the path of respect is always the most appropriate when it comes to resolving an argument, since each person deserves and wants to be treated with kindness and warmth.

Forgive my offenses, Father of mercy. I admit that I have not behaved very well in this life, because I have fallen many times into the temptation of anger and I have exploded in front of someone treating them badly and being very impolite.

Therefore, heavenly Father, give me the opportunity to vindicate myself and be more kind, talking properly and thinking every time I’m going to say something, reflecting on whether it is appropriate or if it is better to say something else.

My heart is infinitely grateful to you, my beloved Lord, because you have allowed me to express myself with clarity and transparency. The trust that You give me I cannot find in anyone else. Only You inspire me that security to say what I really think.

I have faith, Most High, that my prayers will not remain in a vacuum, because You are always with me and support me in the decisions I make to be better with each passing day. In the name of Christ I commend my words to you. Praises to You, my beloved God. Amen.
