In our love life, we often find ourselves caught between two temptations: to let fate act (do nothing), or to want to control everything (move in all directions). However, prayer falls between these two extremes, as we act by accepting God’s will. We can pray to find love, to save a relationship, and we can also pray when the loved one has left us. It’s not about pray to get your ex backor of a magical ritual for an unfaithful husband or wife to return. During an unwanted separation, we can take shelter in prayer, which will help us to open our hearts to forgiveness and to accept what must happen: a reconciliation either a new beginning.
Prayers to reconcile a couple
Giving your partner a second chance is only possible when you meet two conditions: the forgiveness (of both spouses, because each has wounds), and conversion of hearts, that is, accepting to change our attitude and our way of loving. They are two very difficult things and that is why we cannot rely only on our will: they are graces that we must ask the Lord to grant us.
reconciliation prayer
“Jesus, I know my spouse has their heart closed to you.
I know that he is blind and does not want to open it to receive your love.
I, in the name of the sacrament that unites us, and knowing that before your eyes we are “one flesh”, I give you permission to enter his heart through mine, because before you we are one.
I open the doors of his heart for you to enter through me.
My Lord and good Father, I trust in you. Come and dwell in him (her). May he meet you and fall in love with you. That he loves you more than me and than anything or anyone in this world. That he realizes that without you and without your love he cannot live.
I am certain that, if he (she) knows you and loves you more than me, he (she) will allow himself to be enveloped by your love because in you he will always find the joy, the strength and the wisdom to realize and accept everything that there is in you for him and me for him.
If he (she) loves you more than me, he (she) will open his heart to the spring of graces that you poured out on us on the day of our marriage. Amen”.
Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi
“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
That there where are offense, I put forgiveness.
That where there is discord, I put the union.
That where there is error, I put the truth.
That where there is doubt, I put faith.
That where despair, I put hope.
Where darkness is, may I bring the light.
That where there is sadness, I put joy.
Oh Lord, may I not seek so much to be consoled, as to console,
to be understood, how much to understand,
to be loved, how much to love.
Because it is giving as it is received,
it is by forgetting oneself that one finds oneself,
it is by forgiving, how one is forgiven,
it is by dying that one is resurrected to eternal life.
Amen.”

Prayer to accept a separation
“Lord, be light in my mind, peace in my heart, wisdom in my decisions, love in my relationships. I need you, only you are capable of calming my sorrows.
Only in you do I have my hope, only in you will I be able to find a place to protect myself, and thus not give way to fear and the different forms of evil.
Many fears are what attack me daily. For this reason, today, I recognize before you that I am plagued with miseries, and I come to you as my friend and my brother, so that you fill me with your happiness and joy, so that you renew that hopeful force that lifts from the ground all those who trust they seek help from you.
My Lord, you know that all the voids in my being, they can only be filled by your grace and your presence.
My fears, my worries, my pains, my confusions, can only find solutions and healing in you. I know that with your help I will be able to overcome all those fears that do not let me move forward.
Move me with your Holy Spirit. You accompany me and give me courage to face those circumstances that make my knees tremble.
I remain faithful to you, because I am sure that you will not fail me. Take my life Lord, take my mind and my heart and make me a faithful disciple of your love.
You give me the assurance of a calm and joyful hope when, on many occasions in your gospel, you say “Fear not”. Whoever believes in you will never be disappointed and there will be no fear to shake his faith.
I want to let you always come close to me, live in communion with you all my life, that my faults never separate me from your love because I always seek your forgiveness.
All fear inside me vanishes when I accept you and my mouth says confidently: “I believe in you, my Lord.”
Touch my heart, heal it, free it from fear and adverse situations that make it restless. You are my strength and I am sure that your love and mercy do not depart from my spirit.
I trust your faithful promise, I trust your word that comforts me. I want you to also tell me those words of hope that you spoke to Joshua: “Do not be afraid or dismayed, because I, your Lord and God, will be with you wherever you go.” (Josue 1: 9).
Blow my Lord, blow hard, blow the blessings on me that your Holy Spirit brings with it so that you help me believe and give a true testimony of your love to the world, without fear, without fear.
Move me, my Jesus, with your Holy Spirit, may you always accompany me in all my challenges and in those moments of desolation and weakness that sometimes I feel like they knock me to the ground and make me unable to continue the fight to be better every day.
Give me the strength and your power to overcome fears and be free from anguish.
Guide my heart and mind with the Holy Spirit, that powerful presence contained in your three divine persons that illuminates our lives and makes us determined and courageous people in faith.
I love you Jesus, and I trust that at this moment, you are breaking with all those chains that have me tied to despair, and even if I walk through dark paths, I will no longer hesitate or fear, because your strength and your power are with me and I love you. you instill confidence.
Amen.”
