She is one of the youngest saints to have been canonized by the Catholic Church. She died a virgin in 1902 at the age of eleven after being stabbed several times by her assailant who attempted to rape her.

Those who struggle with chastity can always seek her powerful intercession. The celebration in his honor is held every year on July 6. she is the saint Patroness of chastity, adolescents, rape victims, crime victims and youth.

Below prayer to Saint Maria Gorettito ask for your help in special cases.

🙏Prayer to Santa Maria Goretti to forgive

Saint Maria Goretti, heroic and angelic, we kneel before you to honor your persevering strength and beg you to help us. Teach us to deeply love the precepts of our holy Church; help us to see in them the very voice of our heavenly Father. May we persevere without staining our white baptismal robe of innocence.

May we who have lost this innocence, humbly kneel in Holy Penance; and with the priest’s absolution may the torrent of the Precious Blood of Christ flow into our souls and give us new courage to carry the burning light of God’s love through the dangerous paths of this life until Christ our King calls us to the courts of Heaven. Amen

🙏Prayer to Santa Maria Goretti for the healing of the wounded

Dear God, we ask you to help all those who suffer from abuse. Help them find healing and peace in their lives. May Maria Goretti, who was strengthened by Your Grace, join us in praying for the healing of all victims of abuse, particularly those who were abused as children or young adults.

Grant us Your Love so that we can reach them in Your Name with hope in times of trial. As Maria prayed for her attacker, grant us the grace to pray for the true conversion of all involved in the abuse: that they may seek Your Mercy through prayer and penance.

Loving God, pour into our hearts and live your healing Spirit, so that the holiness of every human person may be respected and protected as the precious image of God. Help us to live in the peace that Maria Goretti had found in Christ and in the love of her mother, Maria de ella. Amen.

🙏 Prayer to Santa María, to ask for adolescents

Holy Mary, pray for us so that we can become more like you; always wanting to love God, do what pleases him, and to give him the best of everything we do.

Help us to love and care for our families, as you loved and cared for yours. Help us to be good friends and to give generously to others, as you did. When we are hurt or angry, help us to remember how you forgave.

When we are tempted to do wrong, help us to remember how you always tried to do what was right. And above all, Holy Mary, pray that we can always choose to love God and see God’s ways as the most important things in life. We ask this in the name of Jesus, whom you have loved so much. Amen

🙏 Prayer to Santa Maria Goretti, to ask for the victims of rape

Saint Maria Goretti, strengthened by the grace of God, you did not hesitate, even at the age of eleven, to sacrifice your life itself to defend your virginal purity. Look with grace on our unhappy human race that has strayed so far from God’s design for human sexuality.

Teach all of us, and especially our youth, to be courageous and chaste in avoiding anything that might offend God. Obtain for us a great disgust for anything sinful, so that we can live a holy life and help encourage others to do the same.

Help us to recognize that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and to understand the great dignity that God has given us. May we keep that dignity with a life of purity and chastity and thus obtain the authentic freedom that the Lord offers us.

May we reject slavery to sin, and by God’s preserving grace and abiding mercy, may we rejoice eternally in the glory of Heaven with you and all the saints in light. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Novena to Santa Maria Goretti – Day 1

Purity

«….its purity stands out above all else…»

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

Let us pray to Saint Maria Goretti

Saint Maria Goretti, you valued your purity above all else, and for this, you died as a martyr. Grant me that I also love this virtue. When I am young and the temptations are mostly physical, help me to keep a pure mind and body. As I grow older, help me to keep my mind pure and clean, and open to the suffering of others.

When I am old, remind me that purity is a lifelong virtue and that I must always look for the goodness in others. Teach me to always be loyal to God, to my neighbor and to myself. When I forget, inspire me with your love shown to others.

Meditation: First Joyful Mystery, The Annunciation.

Mary, a virgin, was frightened by the appearance of the Angel Gabriel, and even more by the announcement that she was pregnant. However, she accepted the news with joy and fully committed herself to the service of God, realizing the consequences she could have on her people.

You too, Maria Goretti, have realized the joy of receiving Jesus into your heart in the Holy Eucharist and have learned that this brings with it the obligation to fully commit yourself to obeying his commandments, even if it is with pain or death.

Pray:

  • – Our father
  • – Hail Marys
  • -Glory

The Novena to Santa Maria Goretti – Day 2

Obedience

«…we see (in his life) a tender and docile love for his parents that was at the same time practical and obedient….»

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

Let us pray with faith to Santa Maria

Saint Maria Goretti, model of obedience to your parents, teach me to imitate you. Selfishness and pride will prevent me from being obedient to God and to my parents. Help me overcome these faults. I pray that God will keep my parents close to Him so that they can guide my love. Help me when I am a father and a grandfather to know that if I want obedient children, I must show them by example how to obey God as you did.

Meditation: Second Joyful Mystery, The Visitation.

Mary hastened to share with her cousin Elizabeth her joy at the news that she would be the Mother of God. Elizabeth was also pregnant, despite the fact that she was well above the normal age for childbearing. What happiness they must have radiated when they hugged each other that day.

Saint Maria Goretti, you too have experienced great joy in knowing the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist as you prepared to receive him for the first time. Like Maria, you couldn’t contain your joy when you finally received it. You shared this joy with your family, friends and neighbors. Just as Mary’s physical condition assured her and Elizabeth that they would meet God face to face in nine months, so too the reception of Christ in the Eucharist was your assurance, as it should be ours, of that final encounter with Him. in eternity.

Pray:

  • – Our father
  • – Hail Marys
  • -Glory

The Novena to Santa Maria Goretti – Day 3

self denial

“…there was the sacrifice he made in his difficult daily work…”

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

Let us pray with devotion to Saint Mary

Saint Maria Goretti, you were ready for martyrdom because you practiced self-denial. Teach me to love Jesus and his Holy Mother. Help me learn to make sacrifices when I am young so that I can say “no” to small temptations, thus making it possible, when more serious temptations arise, to keep saying “no.” Help me as I mature to always practice this virtue so that I can safeguard my body and soul.

As I grow older, may I continue to practice self-denial so that my old age will be a model of acceptance and continued spiritual growth. Help me to be sincere in every way so that I can follow you and win heaven for all eternity.

Meditation: Third Joyful Mystery, Birth of Our Lord.

Jesus entered this world from the womb of his mother, Mary, as a helpless baby totally dependent on the care and protection of his parents. Here was God, submitting to two of his creatures.

His birth took place in a stable, a shelter for housing farm animals. These surroundings were not suitable for the King of the Universe, but they were the only lodgings available in Bethlehem that night. God’s trust in Mary and Joseph was not misplaced. They made baby Jesus as comfortable as possible and provided for his needs.

Like Maria and Jose, Maria’s parents showed their love and concern for their children. Despite the poverty and hardships her parents endured, they never shied away from their responsibility to raise their children according to God’s will.

Pray:

  • – Our father
  • – Hail Marys
  • -Glory

The Novena to Santa Maria Goretti – Day 4

Gratitude

“…there was that evangelical poverty to which he freely submitted….”

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

Let us pray to Santa Maria Goretti for gratitude

Saint Maria Goretti, you spent your life in the dirt of the marshes and at the age of ten, you left your childhood to accept the role of maintaining a home to help your poor mother and family. May his example teach me to thank God for all that he has given me and help me to accept the inconveniences that He wants, no matter how difficult or humiliating they may be.

When I wake up each morning, remind me to show my gratitude to God by thanking him for allowing me to live through the night, and by offering him all my thoughts, words, and deeds during the day for his greatest honor and glory.

Meditation: Fourth Joyful Mystery, The Presentation.

In obedience to the Mosaic Law, Mary and Joseph took Jesus to the Temple to consecrate him to God. The witnesses to this event, Simeon and Anna, praised Jesus and predicted that he would accomplish great things. How proud the parents of Jesus must have been with these words of praise. However, that moment of pride was clouded by Simeon’s prediction. He predicted that Mary would have to bear great sorrow for what Jesus would have to do.

Holy Mary, there were many moments in your life when you made your parents proud of you. They fulfilled their…
