Saint Mary Magdalene accompanied Jesus in much of his ministry. We don’t know how long, but her experience of being “delivered from seven demons” changed her life and she became a devoted follower.
When most of the disciples fled into hiding, she was one of the few who followed Jesus to Calvary. She witnessed the horror of her death, the blood and water flowing from her side, and the burial and sealing of the grave. She knew the reality of his death and burial.
Her devotion brought her back to the grave in the company of other women. The Gospel accounts differ on the details of her, but in the case of John, Mary’s love for Jesus renders her unable to get out of the tomb. His Lord is dead, the loss of his body is the final catastrophe… but through her, Jesus was going to tell the apostles and finally the whole world the great truth that he had defeated death and had risen to a new life.
In this Prayer to Saint Mary Magdalenebelievers ask that this great model of repentance and humility intercede for us before Christ, whose resurrection Mary Magdalene was the first to bear witness.

Please, Maria Magdalena, grant me what I ask of you with so much faith, in return I promise to seek the presence of God in prayer as you did. Each day for the next nine days or for a period of your choosing, you will take two verses from John’s account (20:1-18) to use for contemplation and then ask for the intercession of Mary Magdalene, who so obviously loved and was loved by Jesus to pray for God’s blessing and an outpouring of the gifts of the Spirit.

Rosario to Saint Mary Magdalene
The Marian rosary in honor of the Blessed Virgin of Jesus has been used for almost eight centuries. It was originally promulgated by Saint Dominic as a tool to be used in spiritual warfare against the Cathars in medieval France. The Inquisition was formed in 1239 to help eradicate the Cathar heresy that included the belief that Mary Magdalene and Jesus were “lovers.” Since my childhood I have prayed the traditional rosary to the Virgin Mary for special intentions and have experienced wonderful answers to prayer.
Seven mysteries for the Prayer with the Franciscan Crown
General Instructions for the Rosary of Mary Magdalene
Start by having an intention in mind for the rosary. So start with that:
Holding the cross in the right hand (if right-handed), with the rest of the rosary in the left hand, bless me with the Invocation:
In the name of God, the Living, the Word and the Spirit. Amen.
opening prayer
What unites us is killed, what surrounds us is destroyed, all desire is gone, ignorance is dead. We are free to remember eternity. We will rest in Silence for all ages and all eons. Amen.
In the first bead after the cross says the “Our Father”: Many people prefer to use an alternative prayer to affirm that God is beyond all gender:
Our mother, with us on earth, holy is your name, your true kingdom come, your will be done, within us as it is within you. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, just as we forgive those who have oppressed us for their sins, and do not lead us into confusion, but enlighten us with your wisdom. Amen.
after the third AVE MARIA we hold the chain and say:
COUNTRY GLORY:
Glory to you, O God, Living, Word and Spirit. Now, and for all ages. Amen.
Some may want to substitute the traditional prayer: “Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; As in the beginning, so it is and so it will be, world without end. Amen.”
Name the mystery and read the thoughts and prayer that follow each one. He begins with “Don’t cry…”: on the bead just before the medal and “THE SAVIOR HAS MADE ME WORTHY…” on the next ten beads that follow the medal. On the chain that follows these ten beads, say the GLORIA PATRI….with the BLESSED are you…Then, name the next mystery and proceed as above until all mysteries have been said – End with the final prayer and the novena.

«I am dark, but beautiful, oh daughters of Jerusalem, like the tents of Cedar, like the curtains of Salma. Don’t look at me like that because I’m brown, because the sun has burned me.
