Prayer to San Ramón Nonato for Protection, Pregnant and More

Saint Ramon NonatoHe was a Mercedarian religious, he was a saint born in a town in the former Crown of Aragon in Spain. The epithet unborn for him derives from having been removed from his mother’s womb by caesarean section after she had passed away. He is traditionally called patron of pregnant women, women in labor, midwives and newborns.

Legend also says that he converted some prisoners in Algeria to Christianity so that he could also rescue them from prison. Supposedly, he voluntarily gave himself up as a hostage to one of the Christian prisoners when he ran out of funds. However, it is possible that he was arrested, either because of false accusations against him or because of his activities, because there are conflicting reports about the reason for his imprisonment.

He died of a fever on the way to Rome, supposedly to be made a cardinal. He is currently known as the protector of unborn babies, patron of hopeful mothers and fathers, there are many prayers in his honor, below I share a list of prayer to Saint Ramon Nonato that they can use before, during and after pregnancy.

Prayer to San Ramón for a happy birth

Oh patron saint, San Ramón, you who are a model of charity for the poor and for those most in need, here I am humbly prostrate before your feet to implore you to intercede for me and this son that I carry inside my womb. Since your greatest joy was helping the poor and the most needy on earth, help me, I beg you, oh glorious San Ramón, I wish to have a happy birth and may my son be born safe and sound.

I come to you, oh glorious protector, so that you bless the son that I carry in my womb. Protect it now and during the time of delivery. In exchange I promise to give him an education according to the laws of our Lord Jesus Christ. Listen to my request and my prayers, my loving protector, San Ramón, and make me a happy mother to have this child who I hope to give birth through your powerful intercession. So be it. Amen

Prayer to San Ramón Nonato for the protection of children

Glorious San Ramón, full of compassion for those who invoke you and love for those who suffer a lot with the weight of my problems, I throw myself at your feet and humbly beg you to take this matter (Place the favor that is desired) that you I recommend under your special protection for all children who are homeless.

Welcome them and place them under the protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary so that she can place them before the Throne of Jesus our Lord, so that He will take care of them, protect them and guide them on the right path. They do not stop interceding for my request until it is granted. Above all, obtain for me and for them the grace to one day contemplate my God face to face, with you, with Mary and with the saints praising and blessing for all eternity. Amen.

Miraculous prayer to San Ramón unborn to ask for protection

Oh! Glorious San Ramón, to whose power God subjected the earth and the elements, health and illness, life and death, finding in your powerful intercession, advocate for maidens, succession to married women, defense of those who find themselves slandered, harvest the farmers, harbor for the shipwrecked, redemption for the captives, sight for the blind and an end to all evils; Because of your ardent desire to receive the Blessed Sacrament, which forced Jesus Christ to give you Holy Communion from his blessed hands, I beg you to intercede for me so that I may deserve to frequent this heavenly banquet, and receive it by Viaticum at the end of my life, and above all all that I can obtain the special grace that I ask of you and the eternal happiness of glory. Amen.

Novena to San Ramón Nonato for pregnant women

San Ramón Nonato is patron of midwives, obstetricians, newborns and those born by cesarean section. He is also invoked against fever, false accusations, lies, gossip, slander and bad words. Many miracles are attributed to him before and after his death. His novena, or nine-day prayer, is used for many requests.

First day:

My Lord and my God, I humbly adore your infinite majesty, three persons in one God. I am grateful for the graces that have been granted to the glorious San Ramón. He gave himself up voluntarily so that the slaves and captives could have their freedom. His heroism was possible because you gave him the grace.

Oh San Ramón, listen to my requests and intercede before the throne of Jesus. You did not die in the womb of your dead mother and lived to become a saint of the Lord. So listen to my request that my baby come out healthy and grow up to become a saint like you. Amen.

Pray:

Second day:

My sweet Jesus, you cared for your servant San Ramón saving him from certain death in his mother’s womb. You glorified him for his heroism and his beggar life. You called this saint to a difficult life of saving slaves and captives in the hands of Muslims, a task he did for your greatest glory.

Oh, dear San Ramón, from childhood you were close to God and you felt his presence anywhere. You knew you were called when you were still young, and you maintained an interest in that calling through a lifetime of prayer and meditation. Now in heaven, you sit on the lap of the most high and constantly give him glory. Intercede for me before Jesus to grant me my requests during this novena. Amen.

Pray:

Third day:

Oh, Holy Mary, you are more mother than queen. Although in your brief life on earth, you did not want special treatment from people, you want to treat your children in the most special way. San Ramón, in the absence of his mother, called you to be his mother and you protected him from the devil and his works.

Oh, dear San Ramón, your life of piety was marked by an intense dialogue with the Mother of God. She was your mother in the truest sense of the word, when you looked to her for protection during your childhood days. We promise to be devoted to your Mother and we ask you to intercede for us before Jesus for our requests during this novena. Amen.

Pray:

Fourth day:

Lord Jesus Christ, you were disobedient to your Father and defined your life as doing his will no matter what the cost. You want your servants to be as obedient as you are. His servant, San Ramón distinguished himself in this obedience when, after exhausting his money, he surrendered himself as a hostage to the Muslims in exchange for the freedom of certain slaves.

San Ramón, teach us to be obedient to the will of the Father. Teach us to accept our daily crosses. Guide us to works of charity. Instill in us a holy fear and, above all, a great love for God and neighbor. Take our requests to the throne of Jesus. Amen.

Pray:

Fifth day:

Lord Jesus Christ, you told us that everything we do to the least of our brothers, we do to you. Our entrance into your Kingdom will be determined by the way we serve the needy and the poor.

San Ramón excelled in his service to others, allowing himself to become a slave in order to free as many captives as he could. He did not hesitate to spend the last of his treasure so that others could live. Although he was honored as a cardinal, he still spent his time on the streets begging for others.

San Ramón, we are also beggars who ask for your intercession so that the Lord grants us our requests for this novena. He intercedes for us before the throne of the Most High so that our requests are answered and we promise to help the poor and needy in the best possible way. Amen.

Pray:

Sixth day:

Lord Jesus Christ, you love purity and through the virginity of the Holy Mother, you bless all those who are faithful to a chaste life. San Ramón was chaste and pure throughout his life. He offered himself to Mother Mary and made a solemn vow to imitate her in her holy virginity.

Look at us with pity, San Ramón, so that we too may learn to be chaste by cleansing our minds and hearts of all impure things. Make us understand that impure thoughts become deadly once we entertain them. Help us then not to entertain impure thoughts and to receive only in our minds and hearts thoughts that build up our neighbor and make us closer to God. Amen.

Pray:

Seventh day:

Lord Jesus Christ, you did not consider equality with God something to look up to, but emptied yourself and became one with us, a human being with all its imperfections, except sin. You guide us on the path of humility.

San Ramón, you who belonged to a rich and noble family. You considered your riches and your nobility as rubbish compared to what you had received as a religious. You only accepted the office of cardinal out of obedience, but soon after receiving the honor, you took to the streets to be a beggar and beg to care for the poor.

Guide us, then, to live a humble existence, without reference to our positions and wealth, and to see everything as a gift from God. Listen to our requests, dear saint, and intercede for us before the throne of God that listens to you. Amen.

Pray:

Eighth day:

Lord Jesus Christ, you offered yourself to the Father and shed your blood to do his will. Your death is the crowning of your life totally dedicated to the Father.

Oh, San Ramón, you were tortured and almost became a martyr. You survived the ordeal because your tormentors wanted you more alive than dead for the ransom they could get from you. But you were never afraid of dying and death for the love of Jesus was something you longed for in your heart. Your eyes were fixed on heaven and on eternal life.

Always enlighten us so that reaching our eternal destiny becomes our obsession. Inspire us to fix our eyes on the things of heaven and never let us lose sight of things to come. Do not allow the pleasures and comforts of this life to drown out our interest in joining you in heaven. Amen.

Pray:

Ninth day:

Lord Jesus Christ, you sent your apostles to preach the gospel to all creation by word and deed. They trusted weak humans to carry their message across the land and through time. You were not wrong, because the Church is now all over the world. San Ramón was a special apostle in his time, having even converted Muslims to his cause.

Oh San Ramón, give us a sense of urgency to share the good news with others as we ask you to intercede for us before Jesus. We also commit ourselves to follow in your footsteps as apostles who announce your message of salvation to the whole world. Bring requests to Jesus and we promise to be as zealous and sacrifice as you were, so that the good news reaches the farthest corners of the world. Amen.
