Saint Agatha He endured a lot for his Christian faith. Her resilience to her hardships and her ability to quickly recover from the martyrdom and torture she suffered from her made her a great inspiration to nurses who go through a lot in caring for her patients. And because of that, she has been called the patron saint of nurses and sexual assault victims, breast cancer patients, and bell makers.

Saint Agueda, woman of courage, from your own suffering we have been moved to ask you for prayers for those of us who suffer from breast cancer. We place the name(s) before you, and ask you to intercede on her behalf. Pray that God will give us his holy blessing of health and healing.
And, we remember that you were a victim of torture and that you learned, first-hand, of human cruelty and inhumanity. We ask you to pray for our entire world. The date on which Santa Águeda suffered martyrdom, as well as the circumstances of his arrest, are unknown. But her cult soon spread and she became famous, like that of Saint Lucia, the Patroness of Syracuse. The names of these saints are mentioned in the Roman canon.
