Who proposes this novena?
This novena is animated by the Conventual Franciscans of Colombia, specifically in the San Antonio de Padua convent, located in the city of Bogotá.
This saint is our patron and protector, the convent takes its name from the neighborhood that welcomes it. Around the chapel the population begins to grow. We are currently part of the San Luis de Tolosa parish, also administered by the Conventual Franciscans.
Any curiosities about the animators?
In the Chapel of the Conventual Franciscans there are some frescoes painted by Fray Julián Santamaría, which express some important moments in the life of Saint Anthony: the miracle of the fish, the miracle of the donkey, his teaching of theology to the friars and his great charity in distributing the bread. Several people from the department attend his solemnity on June 13, which is carried out with great devotion and care.
The devotion to the saint is great, on the 13th of each month the blessing of the bread of San Antonio in the Eucharist is carried out, with the influx and devotion of the people of the neighborhood.
