History of the Virgin of Lourdes

The first apparitions of the Virgin took place in mid-1958, in Lourdes, France, on the banks of the Gave de Pau river, to the 14-year-old Bernadette Soubirous. In total, she appeared to him 18 times intermittently and, among other things, ordered him to build a religious place of worship in her honor to elevate faith.

One of the most surprising anecdotes of the stories reviewed by Bernadette during her encounters with the Virgin is the outbreak through her of a spring that, to this day, is still active. Her contact with him has caused a multitude of miracles that made the figure of the Virgin of Lourdes popular.

The figure of this Virgin enjoys great popularity both by the miracles accepted by the Catholic Church (about 67 in total), as those that are still in the study/verification phase (about 7000). It is for this reason that the Virgin of Lourdes enjoys the patronage of the sick.
