PRAYERS TO PADRE PIO

Prayer to the Lord through the intercession of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina

O God, you have granted Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, a Capuchin priest, the distinguished privilege of participating, in an admirable way, in the passion of your Son: grant me, through his intercession, the grace of… which I ardently desire; and grant me, above all, that I conform to the death of Jesus to later attain the glory of the resurrection.

Glory to the Father, Glory to the Son, Glory to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, now and always, forever and ever. Amen (3 times)

Prayer composed by Saint John Paul II

Teach us, we pray, the humility of heart to be among the little ones of the Gospel to whom the Father promised to reveal the mysteries of His Kingdom.

Give us a look of faith capable of immediately recognizing in the poor and in those who suffer the same face of Jesus.

Support us in the hour of combat and trial and, if we fall, make us experience the joy of the sacrament of forgiveness.

Transmit to us the tender devotion to Mary, mother of Jesus and ours.

Join us on the earthly pilgrimage to the Blessed Homeland, where we also hope to arrive to contemplate for all eternity the Glory of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen

Prayer to Padre Pio

Blessed P. Pio, witness of faith and love. We admire your life as a Capuchin friar, as a priest and as a faithful witness of Christ. Pain marked your life and we call you “A crucified without a Cross”.

Love led you to care for the sick, to attract sinners, to deeply live the mystery of the Eucharist and of forgiveness.

You were a powerful intercessor before God in your life, and you are now in heaven doing good and interceding for us.

We want to count on your help. Pray for us.

We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

prayer for the sick

Holy Padre Pio, since during your earthly life you showed great love for the sick and afflicted, listen to our prayers and intercede before the merciful Father for those who suffer. He attends from heaven to all the sick in the world; he sustains those who have lost all hope of healing; console those who scream or cry because of their tremendous pain; it protects those who cannot be treated or medicated due to lack of material resources or ignorance; encourages those who cannot rest because they must work; relieves those who seek a less painful position in bed; accompanies those who spend sleepless nights; visit those who see that the disease frustrates their projects; illuminates those who pass a “dark night” and despair; touch limbs and muscles that have lost mobility; enlighten those who see their faith shake and feel attacked by doubts that torment them; appease those who get impatient seeing that they do not improve; soothes those who shake from pains and cramps; grant patience, humility and perseverance to those who are rehabilitated; returns peace and joy to those who were filled with anguish; it diminishes the ailments of the weakest and the elderly; watch over the bed of those who lost consciousness; guide the dying to everlasting joy; leads those who need it most to meet God; and abundantly bless those who assist them in their pain, comfort them in their anguish and protect them with charity. Amen.
