Receiving Jesus for the first time costs €0
The media, in these days of First Communions, show us that these celebrations are very expensive, that it is a waste and that for many families it almost means ruin, or at least, it implies asking for a loan.
For what it’s worth, I say: Receiving Jesus, for the first time, costs 0 Euros.
Celebrating First Communion, socially, costs approximately according to some media the following:
– girl suit: From €500
– child suit: From €350
– shoes, socks, shirt, tie, headband, bag… Millions of euros
– chain, medal, watch, necklace, rosary, crucifix, missal (I don’t know what for): € zillions
– food: From €60 per person.
– report of photos, videos, reminders… From €400
– inflatables, mobile disco… € zillions
In total, between one thing and another, several thousand euros. Of course, everyone can do what they want with their money and their claims, but keep in mind the following:
Receiving Jesus for the first time has the following costs:
– 92 catechism sessions… €0
– work of priests, catechists… €0
– electricity, heating, use of rooms… €0
– gift from the parish, -print, gospel, cross…- 0 €
– cleaning, celebration material… €0
– 4 sessions with parents to prepare everything €0
– worries, bad times, annoyances, sleeplessness, …. 0 €
In total the preparation, development and celebration amounts to €0. Of course, each one with their time, their enthusiasm, their service, their availability, can do what they want-“What you received for free, give for free” -Jesus of Nazareth-
And the boy or the girl, what? Who manipulates him, manages him, breaks the charm of what he celebrates? The Church or society? Well, we already know what we’re up to.
Your friends or family may not know what the price of making the First Communion is, so I ask you to please spread this address among your contacts so that they know: http:///primeracomunion.html
