Rosary of the Holy Wounds
Español Français Deutsch
Origin of the Rosary of the Holy Wounds
It was Our Lord Himself who taught these two invocations to a nun of the Salesas congregation of the Visitation Monastery of Santa María de Chambery, Sister María Marta Chambon, who died in the odor of sanctity on March 21, 1907.
Our Lord deigned to make, in favor of the souls who pray these invocations, consoling and most generous promises.
Let us listen to the Divine Master:
“I will grant everything that is asked of me with the invocation of my Holy Wounds.”
“It is necessary to propagate this devotion.”
“You must frequently repeat this aspiration near the sick: my Jesus, forgiveness and mercy through the merits of Your Holy Wounds. This prayer will soothe their soul and their body. Many people will experience the efficacy of this aspiration.”
“The sinner who said the following prayer ‘Eternal Father, I offer you the Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ to heal those of our souls’ will obtain his conversion.”
“There will be no death for the soul that expires in my Wounds. They give true life.”
“A soul that during his life has honored and applied the Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ, offering them to the Eternal Father for the souls in Purgatory, will be accompanied at the moment of his death by the Most Holy Virgin Mary and the Angels, and Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Cross, resplendent with glory, will receive and crown it.”
How to pray the Rosary of the Holy Wounds
I. O Jesus, Divine Redeemer, be merciful to us and to the whole world.
– Amen
II. Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
– Amen
III. Sorry! Mercy, my Jesus! during the present dangers cover us with your precious blood.
– Amen
IV. Eternal Father, have pity and mercy through the Blood of Jesus Christ your only Son; Have pity and mercy on us, we beg you.
– Amen, Amen, Amen
On the large Rosary beads:
Instead of the Our Father, the prayer Eternal Father is prayed, I offer you the Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ to heal those of our souls.
On the small beads of the Rosary:
Instead of the 10 Hail Marys, the ejaculatory prayer my Jesus, forgiveness and mercy for the merits of Your Holy Wounds is repeated 10 times.
At the end of the Rosary it is repeated three times: Eternal Father, I offer you the Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ to heal those of our souls.
