Saint Faustina Kowalska, known as the “Apostle of Divine Mercy”, was a Polish nun to whom the Lord appeared between 1931 and 1938, entrusting her with the spread of devotion to His Divine Mercy. By indication of her spiritual director, Santa Faustina gathered all the revelations of the Lord in a journal.
Divine Mercy is a devotion centered on the teaching of God’s mercy and His infinite love for humanity. That mercy and that love Jesus Christ makes available to all men, especially the most sinful.
Saint Faustina Kowalska was canonized by Pope Saint John Paul II on April 30, 2000. That same year, Saint John Paul II instituted the Solemnity of Divine Mercy Sunday, to be celebrated each year on the Sunday following Easter Sunday. Resurrection.
