Scooby-Doo’s Velma Is Portrayed As A Lesbian In New Movie

– The LGBTQ+ agenda continues to integrate lesbians into characters loved by children, so now, it was the turn of the iconic “Scooby-Doo”, to have one of the protagonistslike gay.

On the new tape Velma will be introduced as a lesbianafter years of speculation, about the character’s sexuality, but without definitive representations of it, as queer, in the popular cartoon franchise, reports Guiame.com.

The film shows Velma, falling in love with another female character, a costume designer, named “Coco Diablo”, in a Halloween special.

The attraction between the two characters, occurs in a scene, when Velma’s glasses fog up, and her cheeks turn red, while fawning over Coco, who then continues to flirt with Coco, clearly in love.

Although some producers of the program, previously confirmed that his character is not straight, She had never expressed such a strong attraction to other female characters in the franchise’s decades of history, but this time, it was made clear that she is a lesbian.

Producer Tony Cervone confirmed in 2020 that Velma, was a lesbian, in her interpretation of “Mystery Incorporated”a cartoon series, which ran from 2010 to 2013.

According to James Gunn, who wrote the live-action Scooby-Doo movies of the early 2000s, Velma was originally written as a queer character in those movies, but said that Warner Bros. Pictures declined to keep this feature in the script.

“But the studio thinning out, and thinning out, going ambiguous (the filmed version), then nothing (the released version), and finally, having a boyfriend in (the sequel),” Gunn wrote in 2020.

A few weeks ago, the writers of the british children’s show “Peppa Pig”, included a lesbian couplein one episode.
