Should couples between Christians and unbelievers separate?

.- God from the beginning of our days has separated good from evil, an example of this is found in Genesis 1: 4: “And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness.

We can also cite as an example of separation what is indicated in Deuteronomy 22:9: “You shall not sow your vineyard with diverse seeds, lest everything be lost, both the seed you sowed and the fruit of the vineyard.”

But should couples made up of a believer and an unbeliever separate? This question was answered by the apostle Paul when he counseled three different marriage groups, reports the page word and grace.

In Corinthians 7: 10-11, Paul urges people who are in mixed marriages (believer with unbeliever) to keep the marriage, and assures that this could rather bring a spiritual benefit to the unbeliever.

Paul demands that believing women not abandon their unconverted husbands in this situation. (1: Cor. 7:13).

Possibly some were using this kind of intermarriage to get out of marriages when things got tough.

However, the believer has a sanctifying effect that benefits his partner, Paul says.

Although sanctification does not bring salvation to an unconverted person, this person is set apart to receive special attention from God. Corinthians 7:16 says, “For what do you know, O wife, if perhaps you will save your husband? Or what do you know, oh husband, if perhaps you will save your wife?

It is important to note that this type of relationship can be difficult. The worldview of life of a Christian is different from that of an unbeliever. The call to all Christians is to extend the kingdom of God, and this includes fighting intelligently, with faith, love and respect so that both members of this type of couple find salvation.
