Silvestre Dangond distances himself from God by showing him publicly

COLOMBIA.- The Colombian singer Silvestre Dangond, who has been nominated for the 2017 Latin Grammy Awards in the Best Cumbia – Vallenato Album category, has generated a lot of controversy after posting two videos on his official accounts where he appears drinking liquor, shouting vulgar words and while next day showing no regret but joy.

In August 2015, Dangond had publicly stated on the Día a Día program on televira Caracol, about his spiritual transformation and how he came to feel closer to Christ thanks to a friend, on the first of January on his vacation.

“The first thing I did was set my heart, when I set my heart, God began to act… I began to repent, let go of many things and from one moment to the next the change began,” Dangond said at the time.

He also stated that a follower of his gave him the book by Alex Campos, which God used to speak to his life: …I would get off a platform to continue with mundane life, with drinks, with friends, with things, I don’t know why are we playing hypocrisy, selling a facade and what you are doing there is mocking God”.

Dangond said very sincerely that he did not want to give up the unique joy of Christ despite the fact that one of the presenters had told him that there was nothing wrong with him: “I would never want to leave here, the joy that one feels is a I enjoy, I love it. I don’t want, I don’t want, I don’t want, the joy I feel today with Christ is unique”.

Dangond is considered one of the main representatives of the New Wave of Vallenato music, however unfortunately he has returned to his old life after publishing a live broadcast on Instragram where he is seen consuming alcohol inside a vehicle.

«Tomorrow they are going to dawn saying that Silvestre, the bad example, that I don’t know what. I am happy, oh, how are you! What if I die now? Well, if I die now, cool, I was happy, “says the drunken singer who later deleted the videos from his official Instagram account but the media compiled his recordings, on the other hand, many Christians regret the performance of the singer who on one occasion sang with Alex Campos the song Mi Fiesta at the annual Raza de Campeones event where he also testified of his conversion to Christianity.
