Soccer player changes the word “God” to “gay” in the motto of the United States

CHRISTIANNEWS.COM.- Soccer player Megan Rapinoe, one of the most controversial progressive activists in the United States, provoked a new challenge to Christians by changing the word God to “gay” in the country’s motto.

The phrase “In God We Trust”, (“In God we trust”) was changed by the player, in a bag that said “In Gay We Trust”, (“in gays we trust”). Recall that Rapinoe is captain of the US women’s team, reports WND.

The phrase, which is one of the mottos of the United States, comes from one of the verses of the song The Star-Spangled Banner, written in 1814 by Francis Scott Key, and later adopted as the United States national anthem.

In the song, there is the phrase “and this our motto be: ‘In God is our trust'”, which is considered the inspiration for the motto.

Dressed in a red, white and blue outfit and carrying a bag with the blasphemous phrase on it, Rapinoe received much criticism from users on social networks.

Journalist Jack Davis of The Western Journal wrote: “Football star Megan Rapinoe, better known for her outrageous political statements than her performance on the field. She has caused controversy again at the Met Gala in New York City, ”she commented.

Other netizens echoed the photos of Rapinoe saying that “God is not mocked,” in reference to Galatians 6:7.

Megan Rapinoe arrived at the #MetGala carrying a red, white and blue clutch that reads “IN GAY WE TRUST,” matching her pantsuit.
