.- Relatives, friends and loved ones are mourning the death of a disinterested marine, who lost his life when he was run over while helping those in need.
Alberto Lucio, 20, of Smithville, Tennessee, was fatally struck by a truck in California this past Monday around 3:20 am after he stopped to help people involved in an accident, WSMV reports.
The military police officer will be remembered by friends and loved ones as a person who always sought to help others. He died at the scene after a pickup truck struck him and struck the disabled vehicle he was helping.
Furthermore, those who knew Lucio expressed deep sadness and described the late hero as a supportive and humble man.
Jenny Norris, assistant principal at DeKalb County High School, where Lucio attended and graduated in 2019, was among those who shared her thoughts on what happened and on the young man’s character.
“He graduated, and immediately enlisted in the Marine Corps. Alberto was a very kind and humble student. His father is a pastor in our community, so you could see that in his life,” Norris revealed. The school honored Lucio this week with a minute of silence.
Lastly, the driver is expected to be jailed after being released from the hospital. And they will charge him with multiple felonies, although more specific information is not yet available.
