Michelén assured that people do not lose salvation, but they did not have it.
The pastor explained that salvation was the Lord’s justice placed on our account through faith, adding that if salvation could be lost it would be because God’s justice is not enough, “and this is not so.”
The religious leader cited Ephesians chapter 2 to explain that faith is granted by God, and indicated that this is the path to salvation and not by works.
Likewise, he expressed that it also happens with repentance, since this capacity is granted by God.
However, the pastor made it clear that God grants the ability to have faith and repent, but it is man who decides to profess these actions.
Michelén indicated that a person who claims to believe in the perseverance of the saints and lives like a wicked person will not find salvation.
On the other hand, he referred to those who professed the faith for a while; about these he said that they were never saved: “In 1 John chapter 2 verse 19 it clearly says: ‘they came from us, but they were not from us…”, he added that “there are no straying Christians. There are people who have never been in the lane.”
The pastor stated that a true believer cannot be lost, because it is the Father who is clinging to him, not the other way around.
To justify his point of view, the pastor ended by quoting “John chapter 10 from verse 27: “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me, and I give them eternal life; and they will never perish, nor will anyone snatch them out of my hand.”
