Summary of the history of the Sanctuary
In 1961, Father Fernando Molluna Monné, accompanied by students from the Virgen de Begoña school, where he was a teacher, made an excursion to Mount Picayo, located in Sagunto (Valencia) and there he received the inspiration to found a sanctuary to the Virgin, to whom he, for being a paul, put the invocation of Miraculous.
Once the idea was communicated to the superiors, controversy arose (like all the works of God) between defenders and detractors. After many sacrifices, which the father overcame with great faith and hope in the Virgin, the sanctuary was built and Father Fernando remained body and soul at the service of the Virgin.
In 1982, Father Fernando fell seriously ill, and the superiors decided to send him to Catalonia, where he is from, to recover. With the departure of Father Fernando, all activity in the sanctuary and worship of the Virgin disappeared, leaving everything abandoned.
In October 1993, the Virgin once again took the initiative and, through an inner voice, showed her desire to be venerated again in that sanctuary.
In May 1994, the Virgin, by means of a painting, was placed for the worship and veneration of those who wanted to visit her.
In May 1995, after the sanctuary had been restored, the inauguration was carried out by Father Fernando, displaced from Barcelona at the age of 86 with special permission from the Provincial father.
