Temple Mount wedding considered ‘prophetic sign’

ISRAEL. -A Jewish couple (not identified for security reasons) made history on the Temple Mount last week, because practitioners of Judaism are not allowed access. In the sacred place it was possible to carry out a wedding ceremony.

According to a statement from the Jerusalem-based Temple Institute, this was the first wedding held at its location in 2,000 years. Prior to this, there were records of wedding ceremonies in the holy place when the Second Temple was standing.

The Institute explains that its international director, Rabbi Chaim Richman, gave his blessing to the couple. “After scrupulously examining the law regarding the marriage ceremony and consulting other rabbinical authorities, Rabbi Richman agreed,” the statement said.

According to the Temple Institute, which is actively working for the restoration of the temple on the premises, the official blessing over the wine was given before the ceremony on the mount. With great care and discretion the “witnesses heard the declaration of the union from the lips of the bride and groom and saw that the groom placed the gold ring on the finger of the bride.”

Since Jewish prayer in the complex is strictly prohibited, everyone who participated in the celebration tried to attract as little attention as possible. They feared being detained by the Israeli police or, worse still, ending up being detained by the Muslim Wakf guard, which controls Jordanian jurisdiction over the venue.

Accompanied by Rabbi Richman, the two witnesses approached the couple and heard them repeat the oath. They then exchanged rings in silence and went elsewhere, which ended the festive part of the wedding.

According to the Institute, the event was recorded, but at the request of the couple, only two images of the wedding were published on social networks. However, soon after they were deleted due to the protests that began to emerge.

Some sites that analyze the events in Israel from a prophetic perspective, raised the possibility that this is a “sign”. After all, the photo of the wedding of Christ with the Church is a very strong and present symbolic figure in the New Testament.

Passover in Israel follows the lunar calendar and the Old Testament tradition. It is celebrated in the country on April 21. The recent demonstration by the Temple Institute that priests are being trained to resume sacrifices has inflamed tempers in Israel. This is considered one of the strongest signs that the Messiah is very close for his coming to take place.
