Thank my Lord

Thank my Lord

A newly arrived soul in heaven met an angel. The angel took the soul on a tour of heaven.

They both walked step by step through a large workshop filled with other angels. The angel stopped in front of the first section and said, “This is the receipt section.”

Here, all petitions made to God through prayer are received. “The soul looked at the section and was terribly busy with many angels sorting through petitions written on voluminous sheets of paper from people all over the world.

They kept walking until they reached the next section and the angel told him, “This is the packing and delivery section.”

Here, the graces and blessings that people ask for are packaged and sent to the people who requested them. The soul saw how busy it was. There were as many angels working on it as there were blessings being packaged and shipped to earth.

Finally, in the far corner of the room, the angel stopped at the last section. To his surprise, only one angel remained in it, idly doing very little. “This is the thank you section” said the angel to the soul. “How come there is so little work here?” – asked the soul.

“This is the worst” – replied the angel. After people receive the blessings they asked for, very few send their thanks.

How does one give thanks for God’s blessings?

“Very simple,” replied the angel, “You just have to say, Thank you Lord.”

Thank you Lord, for giving me the greatest gift; for sending your only begotten son to die for my sins and give me salvation, eternal life through Jesus.
