“Oh my sweet Jesus! Wound my heart, so that the tears of penance, pain and love may be my bread, day and night. Convert me entirely to you, may my heart be your perpetual abode, may my conversation be pleasant to you, and may the end of my life be so praiseworthy to you that after my death I may deserve your paradise and praise you forever with all your saints. So be it!”

First sentence

“Oh my Jesus! eternal sweetness to those who love you, joy that surpasses all joy and all desire, hope and salvation of sinners, who have given proof that they have no greater satisfaction than to be among men until they take human nature in the fullness of times for love of them, remember the sufferings you endured from the moment of your conception and especially at the time of your holy passion, as it had been decreed and ordered from all eternity according to the divine will. Remember, Lord, that when you made the last supper with your disciples, after washing their feet, you gave them your sacred body and your precious blood, and, while gently consoling them, you foretold your next passion. Remember the sadness and bitterness that you have felt in your soul, as you yourself have shown, saying: “My soul is sad until death.” Remember, Lord, the fears, the anguish and the pain that you endured in your delicate body before the torture of the cross, when after having prayed three times while sweating blood, you were betrayed by Judas, your disciple, imprisoned by the nation you chose and in which you were raised, accused by false witnesses, unjustly judged by three judges, in the flower of your youth and in the solemn season of Easter. Remember that they have stripped you of your own clothes and they have put on you those of mockery; that they blindfolded you and covered your face, that they gave you lashes, that they crowned you with thorns, that they put a cane in your hand and that tied to a column you were torn apart by blows and overwhelmed by insults and outrages. In memory of these sorrows and pains that you endured before your passion on the cross, grant me before death a true contrition, a pure and complete confession, a worthy penance and the remission of all my sins. So be it!”

second sentence

“Oh my Jesus! True freedom of angels, paradise of delight, remember the horror of sadness you endured when your enemies, like furious lions, surrounded you, and with a thousand insults, spitting, whipping, scratching and other incredible tortures, tormented you at will. In consideration of these torments and these injuries, I beg you, O my Savior, to free me from my visible and invisible enemies, and lead me, under your protection, to the perfection of eternal salvation. So be it.”

third sentence

“Oh Jesus! Creator of heaven and earth, whom nothing can limit, you who enclose and keep everything under your power, remember the bitter pain you endured when the soldiers, binding your sacred hands and delicate feet on the cross, pierced them with great nails blunt and, not finding you in the state in which they wanted to satisfy their rage, they increased your sores, and added pain after pain then, with unheard-of cruelty, they placed you on the Cross and pushed you from all sides, dislocating your limbs. I beg you, by the memory of this holy and loving pain of the cross, to give me your fear and your love. So be it!”

fourth sentence

“Oh my Jesus! Heavenly Physician, nailed to the cross to heal our wounds with yours, remember the wasting and bruising you suffered on your limbs, none of which will remain in place, so that there was no pain similar to yours. From the soles of your feet to the top of your head, no part of your body was free from torment; and yet, forgetting your sufferings, you did not tire of praying to your father for your enemies, saying: “Father, forgive them, because they do not know what they do.” For this great mercy and in memory of this pain, make the memory of your bitter passion work in me a perfect contrition and the remission of all my sins. So be it!”

fifth sentence

“Oh my Jesus! Mirror of eternal splendor, remember the sadness you had when, contemplating in the light of your divinity the predestination of those who were going to be saved by the merits of your holy passion, you saw at the same time the multitude of those who were going to be condemned by their sins, and you bitterly pitied those miserable lost and hopeless sinners. Because of this abyss of compassion and mercy, and especially because of the kindness you show to the good thief, telling him: “Today you will be with me in paradise”, I beg you, oh sweet Jesus, that at the hour of my death, have mercy on me. . So be it!”

sixth prayer

“Oh my Jesus! Adorable King and all desirable, remember the pain you had when, naked and like a wretch, bound and raised on the cross, all your relatives and friends abandoned you, except your beloved mother who accompanied you with Saint John, faithfully in your agony. and that you recommended them to each other, saying: “Woman, here is your son! », And to the disciple: «Here is your mother! I beseech you, O my Savior, with the sword of pain that later pierced the soul of your holy mother, to have compassion on me in all my afflictions and tribulations, both physical and spiritual, and to help me in my difficulties, especially in the moment of my death. So be it!”

seventh sentence

“Oh my Jesus! Inexhaustible source of mercy that, with deep affection and love, you said on the cross: “I thirst! », But from mankind’s thirst for salvation, I beg you, O my Savior, to exalt my heart’s desire to strive for perfection in all my works, and to completely extinguish in me concupiscence and carnal lust and the ardor of worldly appetites. So be it!”

eighth sentence

“Oh my Jesus! Sweetness of heart, sweetness of spirit, through the bitterness of gall and vinegar that you tasted on the cross for our love, grant me to receive with dignity your precious body and your blood for life and at the hour of my death, so that serve as a remedy and consolation for my soul. So be it!”

ninth sentence

Royal Virtue, joy of the spirit, remember the pain you endured, when submerged in bitterness at the proximity of death, insulted and outraged by men, you cried out that your Father was abandoning you, saying to him: “My God, my God, why what have you forsaken me?” For this anguish, I beg you, my Savior, do not abandon me in the terrors and pains of death. So be it!”

tenth sentence

“Oh my Jesus! That you are in all beginning and end, life and virtue, remember that for us you were submerged in an abyss of pain, from the soles of your feet to the crown of your head. In consideration of the size of your wounds, teach me to keep your commandments through true charity, these commandments whose path is wide and easy for those who love you. So be it!”

eleventh sentence

“Oh my Jesus! Deep abyss of mercy, I beg you, in memory of your wounds that have penetrated to the marrow of your bones and your entrails, to take me, miserably submerged by my offenses, out of sin and hide me from your angry face in the holes of your wounds, until your anger and your righteous indignation have passed. So be it!”

twelfth sentence

“Oh my Jesus! Mirror of truth, mark of unity, bond of charity, remember the multitude of wounds you have been dealt from head to foot, torn and bloodied by the shedding of your lovely blood. Oh great and universal pain that you suffered for love of us in your virginal flesh! My sweet Jesus, what could you have done for us that you would not have done? I beg you, oh my savior, to mark with your precious blood all your wounds in my heart, so that I can constantly read your pains and your love. That by the faithful memory of your passion, the fruit of your sufferings be renewed in my soul, and that your love grows there every day, until it reaches you who are the treasure of all the goods and all the joys that I beg of you. Give yourself, oh sweet Jesus, in eternal life. So be it!”

thirteenth sentence

“Oh my Jesus! Very strong lion, immortal and invincible king, remember the pain you endured, when all your strength, both of heart and body, exhausted, you bowed your head saying: “All is finished! “For this anguish and this pain, I beg you, Lord Jesus, to have mercy on me in the last hour of my life, when my soul will be in anguish and my spirit will be troubled. So be it!”

For this precious death, I beg you, oh king of saints, to comfort me and help me to resist the devil, flesh and blood, so that being dead to the world, I live only in you. Receive, I beg you, at the hour of my death, my pilgrim and exiled soul that returns to you. So be it.”

And at last, like a bundle of myrrh raised from the top of the cross, your delicate flesh was annihilated, the moisture of your entrails was extinguished, the marrow of your bones was…
