What are the Beatitudes?
They are the characteristics that a believer in Christ must have to be worthy of the kingdom of heaven. This is attributed to the attitudes and the type of happiness that has been shared by Jesus to his apostles.
The Beatitudes are described in Matthew 5:3-12 and are part of the Sermon on the Mount given by Jesus. The word blessed means blessed and it was the way in which Christ showed his followers how to build a place with the Father.
They are made up of two parts. One is the antechamber that describes blessed those or those, to refer to what keeps your heart. While the ending focuses on the promise of a privileged place in heaven.
God’s message in the Beatitudes
God has seen the need of man to achieve full happiness. He knows that this state comes from within, but that it is confused with the goods of the world. That is why he sends a clear message through Jesus Christ.
It is not those who have the most wealth on earth who will enter the kingdom of heaven. Not the lustful or the most greedy. But if they will those who love their neighbor, who are poor in spirit and pure in heart They will see the glory of God.
Each one represents something different and as good Christians we must know it.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven
Man has always sought by any means to feel full of spirit. He has taken it upon himself to seek the answers to his emptiness in philosophies and beliefs that are not of God.
Therefore, if you are already full of pride and worldly beliefs, your spirit is full, but not of the Holy Spirit. Thus, blessed are those who believe in Christ because they have been born in the Spirit of God. Christ is the way to happiness and the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall possess the earth
This beatitude speaks of control of God over the lives of his faithful. That is, he has left the emptiness of the world to be filled with the essence of the Holy Spirit. He lives the tenets of the faith and bears witness to the gospel through his actions.
The way in which God acts in man has a mystical and spiritual meaning. The way is his Word and the way we cling to it. To inherit the promised land, we must leave the world and fulfill God’s commandments.
Blessed are those that weep, for they shall receive consolation
Refers to those who sin and are sorry from the heart for having offended God. The feeling of guilt that overwhelms us can be cured and we can only achieve it in the risen Christ.
Because every sin that is confessed and as a penitent seeks reconciliation with God, will be forgiven. It is to be reborn in spirit and prepare to receive the blessings of heaven.
As men we are sinners and it is our duty to seek peace in Christ Jesus through the sacrament of confession. In this way, be worthy of salvation.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied
It represents the need to enter the kingdom of heaven and the tireless search for spiritual truth. The only way is God, his commandments and the way we lead our lives.
God sanctifies those who follow his precepts with righteousness and humility in daily life and in their spirit. Those who are flooded with his Holy Spirit and seek refuge in Christ are worthy.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy
God has seen his people condemned and by his grace and mercy has sent us salvation. This is the attitude that God looks for in his children. So he invites us to be pious and merciful to others.
We have already been forgiven and our duty is to forgive. This is one of the most important works of mercy within the Christian faith.
This is what Jesus said, we must forgive 70 times 7. When we have God in our hearts and love our neighbor, forgiving will not be difficult.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God
Sometimes the fact of believing in God and looking for him anywhere is confused, even if it is a different religion or philosophy of life. The truth is that when we embrace a practice that offends God we are not clean.
The connection with God is broken and our spirit begins to lose strength. Being pure in heart implies leave everything that separates us from God, what dwells in the world to embrace true spirituality. Only in this way can we see the face of God and be worthy of forgiveness of sins.
Blessed are those who seek peace, for they will be called children of God
A clean heart can achieve much-needed peace of mind. True peace is given by God to men through the grace of forgiveness. Surrendering at the feet of Christ and allowing ourselves to be set free from sin makes us whole.
Bring peace to our lives and the strength to forgive because we have already seen the mercy of the Father. Alone we cannot achieve them, but with God there are no impossible.
Blessed are those persecuted for the sake of justice, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven
All who keep the commandments and the Word of God will be attacked. The world is sin, it is temptation and fall. Those who do not allow themselves to be caught up in the nets of the worldly, of lies and malevolent actions will be persecuted.
And it is that, to be reborn in Christ and to proclaim the faith is to be on the path of truth. It is not well seen by others, but it fills God with joy. For that, the reward will be great in heaven.
Blessed are you when they revile you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
It is impossible to fight against the beliefs of the world and that is why there have always been disputes. But more than being a problem, it is a test of faith that will allow us to know how much God has worked in us.
When we believe and act righteously, our lives make sense in Christ and nothing in the world can corrupt us. We will be strong because it is the strength of God that dwells in us and we will be victorious because our lives have been anointed by the Holy Spirit.
Rejoice and rejoice because your reward will be great in heaven
It refers to the promise and blessings that come from heaven and that we will receive when we are in paradise. The greatest prize and promise given by Christ to men, to dwell with Him in paradise.
If we follow his example and enter into pure faith, we can be partakers of the riches that await us. It is for this reason that it emphasizes build a place in Heaven and not on earth.
Everything we do will be seen in heaven and each one of our works has already been judged. God wants us to be happy and that is why he has sent us Christ to show us the way of salvation.

Catholic life:
The life of a Catholic Christian is always full of God’s love, that’s why in the Beatitudes he tells us that “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted”. In every worrying moment we have, we can pray a prayer of protection, and we will feel Heavenly Father’s presence.
To feel closer to the Most High, we must know the creed, as it is one of the prayers that we will always need to pray, both at Mass and at home, to feel the peace that only his word can give us. Just as we can also go to the Virgin of Guadalupe, who always intercedes for our prayers, and she never stops listening to us.
For extreme needs
When we feel clogged with problems and concerns, we can turn to Saint Judas Tadeo in prayer, as he is one of the saints closest to the Father, and he will listen to us in desperation. To feel strengthened we can pray to Saint Benedict, because his love is strong and he will always give us his protective hand.
It is important to thank God for each day of life that he gives us, that is why we must pray at night and get closer and closer to the infinite mercy that the Just Judge has for us.
