The blue pebbles
There were two little stones that lived in the middle of others in the bed of a torrent. They were distinguished among all because they were of an intense blue color. When the sun hit them, they shone like two bits of heaven fallen into the water. They talked about what they would be when someone discovered them: “We will end up in the crown of a queen” they said to each other.
One day, they were finally picked up by a human hand. For several days they were suffocating in various boxes, until someone took them and pressed them against a wall, like others, introducing them into a bed of wet cement.
They cried, begged, insulted, threatened, but two hammer blows sank them even deeper into that cement.
From then on they only thought of running away. They made friends with a trickle of water that from time to time ran over them and told him: – Seep under us and tear us out of this damn wall”. So did the trickle of water and after a few months the pebbles They were already dancing a little on her bed.
Finally on a wet night the two pebbles fell to the ground and lying on the ground they took a look at what had been their prison. The moonlight illuminated a splendid mosaic. Thousands of gold and colored stones formed the figure of Christ. But in the face of the Lord there was something strange, he was blind. His eyes lacked an iris. The two little stones understood. They were the eyes of Christ. In the morning a distracted sacristan tripped over something strange on the floor. In the dim light he passed the broom and threw them into the garbage can.
Christ has a wonderful plan for each one of us, and sometimes we don’t understand it and by doing our own will we spoil what he had planned. You are the eyes of Christ. He needs you to look with love at each person who comes into your life.
