the four candles
The four candles burned slowly. In the environment there was such silence that you could hear the dialogue they had.
The first said: – I AM PEACE! But people can’t keep me. I think I’m going to shut down. And, lowering her fire rapidly, she was completely extinguished.
The second said: – I AM FAITH! Unfortunately, men find me superfluous. People don’t want to hear from me. It makes no sense to stay on. When she finished speaking, a breeze gently passed over her and she was blown out.
Quick and sad, the third candle manifested: – I AM LOVE! I do not have the strenght to keep on. People put me aside and do not understand my importance. They forget even those who are very close and love them. And, without waiting any longer, it turned off.
Suddenly… a young man entered and saw the three candles extinguished. “But what is this? You should be on fire until the end.”
Then, the fourth candle spoke: – Don’t be afraid: as long as I have fire, we can light the other candles. I AM THE HOPE!
The young man, his eyes shining, grabbed the candle that was still burning… and lit the others.
MAY HOPE NEVER GO OUT WITHIN US!
And that each one of us knows how to be the tool that young people need to maintain Hope, Faith, Peace and Love!
God made man in the person of Jesus came into the world and lived among us and he announced to us: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 13,6)
If we put our hope in Jesus, the world will change, because he will never fail us.
Although it seems that the world is destroying itself and that things are going wrong, keep in mind that Jesus told us: In the world you will have tribulations, but take heart, I have overcome the world. John 16,33.
This is our hope. Friends, always keep this flame burning!
