The Kingston Clan: The Separate Polygamous Sect of Mormons

CHRISTIANNOTICE.COM.- The Kingston clan is a polygamous and inbred sect from Utah, United States, separate from the Mormons, which has been the subject of investigation in the United States for the last 25 years, according to an article in the BBC.

This sect began after Charles Kingston was excommunicated from the Mormon congregation in 1929 for practicing polygamy. Six years later his son decided to start his own church, and thus the clan began.

The official name of the Kingston clan is Davis County Cooperative Society. This sect is It operates under a strict hierarchical system.

At the top of the pyramid is the ‘prophet’, a man who must have ‘pure Kingston blood’. Since 1987, this position has been held by Paul Elden Kingston, grandson of Charles and nephew of Elden, who is also estimated to have 500 children by 34 wives. All decisions within the clan must have their approval.

After the prophet they are followed by the “Seven Brothers”. They respond to “Numbered Men” -a superior status within the community that designates their hierarchy within the clan-, below these are the unnumbered married men and, lastly, women and children.

aberrated rules

The women of this clan must obligatorily marry people from their community. They are also governed by rules where they are inferior to men.

Many of these women marry underage and the chosen husband is a close relative, such as a brother, first cousin or uncle.

Men can have more than one wife. Women do not, but they must have a husband, and the premise is that they give birth to as many children as they can, even if it is against their will, so that the sect grows.

Within the clan, polygamy is normalized. There is even a figure called plural marriage, where a man can be married to several women at the same time.

On the other hand, members of the Kingston clan cannot answer questions from strangers about their clan, much less interact with them.

The Kingston clan has been in the eye of justice for at least 25 years, and in the past some of its members have been convicted of sexual crimes, state fraud and money laundering.
