The pencil maker
A pencil maker took a pencil just before putting it in its box, and gave it some advice. He told her:
– There are 5 things you must know before you are sent into the world. Always remember them and you will be the best pencil in the world.
The 5 things are as follows:
1- You will always do great things, but only if you let yourself be held in the hand of someone else.
2- You will experience pain on some occasions when you get sharpened, but it is necessary for you to be a better pencil each time.
3- You will have mistakes, but you will have a draft to correct them all.
4- The most important part of you is what you carry inside.
5- On whatever surface you are used, you will have to leave your mark. No matter the circumstances or conditions, you must continue to write.
The pencil entered its box promising to remember these 5 things and with a purpose in its heart to be useful.
Now we could put ourselves in the place of the pencil and remember these 5 things to be a better person every day:
1- You will always do great things, but only if you let yourself be held in the hand of God.
2- You will experience pain at times from struggles and tribulations, but it is necessary for you to be stronger and braver each time.
3- You will have mistakes, but you will have humility to correct them all and grow through them.
4- The most important part of you is the one you carry inside your heart.
5- On any surface you walk on, you will have to leave your mark. No matter the circumstances or conditions, you must continue to serve God at all times.
Serving God and others is one of the most beautiful privileges a believer has.
What you are is God’s gift to you. What you make of yourself is your gift to Him.
