.- Through an interview with CNN, the Christian singer and pastor Jesús Adrián Romero assured that it is a sin to be gay, but added that this issue should not be the center of attention on spiritual issues.
The Christian singer-songwriter was asked, Is it a sin to be gay? To which, he replied: “The problem I have with that question is that it has become the center of attention, in what has to do with spiritual issues.” The interview is eight years old, but it has gone viral again and many people are talking about it.
Then, he added that being gay is a sin, as is lying and committing adultery because the Bible says so. “But questions of that nature are not asked, they always want to point out homosexual people in this case,” Romero said. (See video here).
Later, he affirmed that: «In this type of subject the Bible is very clear that it is a sin, but it is not the central message of the Gospel. The central message of the Gospel is that there is forgiveness for all.
Lastly, he mentioned that he sees a problem with people calling someone out for being gay. “Everyone and absolutely everyone has sinned. But the message of the Gospel is a message that is more inclusive than exclusive, Jesus came to reconcile the whole world with God without making exception of people”, concluded Jesús Adrián Romero.
