They close Xtube for human trafficking, the next one will be Porhub

.- The pornographic website XTube, owned by Mindgeek, announced in a statement that it will close on September 5. Following the announcement, anti-trafficking groups celebrated.

Laila Mickelwait, a prominent figure in the anti-trafficking and sexual abuse movement, posted XTube’s statement on her Twitter account. Along with the message: “Lesson: If you can’t trade legally, you can’t trade. Next up: Pornhub,” reports the Christian Post.

Although XTube does not explain the reason for the closure, in the statement they say they are sad, but they feel proud of the community they have created since 2008. They also thanked the users of the platform.

They also noted that July will be the last billing month for pornography subscribers. And they urged them to continue supporting other Mindgeek-owned porn sites, such as Pornhub and MyDirtHobby.

Sexual abuse and human trafficking

On the other hand, the National Center for Sexual Exploitation, a group that has long advocated shutting down porn sites for hosting videos of traffickers, pedophiles and rapists with their victims, applauded the news.

“XTube’s announced closure is further proof that MindGeek’s exploration empire is crumbling,” said Dawn Hawkins, the group’s chief executive.

For Hawkins, the decision to close came after mounting pressure from lawmakers, media outrage, loss of business support and victims demanding justice. “It was a victory for this movement to hold the pornography industry accountable for facilitating sexual abuse and exploitation,” she commented.

Mindgeek still has several porn sites where he has around 20 million subscribers all over the world. Last December, Pornhub announced that it was changing its internal policy after receiving widespread criticism.
