CHRISTIANNEWS.COM.- The parents of a sophomore girl at North Hill Elementary School in Des Moines, Washington, accused school officials of repeatedly penalizing their daughter for telling her classmates about Jesus.

“We were shocked when we were first contacted by the parents of a second grader who said their daughter had been sent to the North Hill Elementary School principal’s office 10 times since January 1 for testifying to her classmates. on the playground,” Compagone said.

According to Christina Compagnone, associate attorney at the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), which represents the family, the school not only reprimanded her for telling her classmates about Jesus, but also stopped her at the school entrance every the mornings to inspect his backpack.

The girl’s mother confronted the school principal for taking Christian flyers from her during her daughter’s backpack inspections and was told her daughter was not allowed to share them because the activity “disturbed parents.”

According to the Christian Post, after the parents contacted the ACLJ, the organization contacted the school and explained that the second grader’s testimony to her peers is protected by the First Amendment.

The principal insisted that it is school policy that students may not distribute materials that disrupt or interfere with school activities.

“Students are free to express their religious views while at school, which includes sharing Bibles, Christian tracts, and crosses,” Compagnone added.
