BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA. – A video that is broadcast on the Internet shows the singer Marcos Witt once again supporting the ecumenical event CRECES that took place on October 10 in Luna Park.
The Argentine Catholic Information Agency reported in advance that Marcos Witt would not be present but would support this activity with a video that would be presented to those attending the event, however, the singer did not publish anything about it on social networks.
Marcos Witt himself says in this video that 10 years have passed -June 19, 2006- since he first attended the ecumenical event “Renewed Communion of Evangelicals and Catholics in the Holy Spirit” (CRECES), after that participation was generated a wave of criticism and controversy over his statements at a press conference with Raniero Cantalamessa, an important Vatican priest. These are some of his statements: “I joined this invitation because I want to investigate this path, I want to walk this different path, because I already know the other one. May God give us the wisdom, the grace, to be able to have the approach that I know is in the heart of God. That is why I am here ”, he specified towards the end of the speech.
After this news spread, in statements and at press conferences, the singer has denied being ecumenical, what’s more, it bothers him that they talk to him about the issue, as happened in February 2010 in Managua, Nicaragua, when the Nicaraguan secular press asked him if it was ecumenical, for which Marcos Witt was quite upset.
On that occasion, the most important newspaper in Nicaragua, La Prensa, called him arrogant for his statements, also saying that “his worldly side came out”, “he sings to God, but he is definitely far from being with Him.”
It is worth mentioning that Canzion Group has systematically requested the YouTube portal to remove all videos related to the CRECES event, so it is almost impossible to find any reference to the video where Marcos Witt made those controversial statements 10 years ago.
In this new video Marcos Witt sends a greeting supporting the event started with his message with the following words: «It is a pleasure to greet you in this new opportunity to be together in this great GROW event, I remember my time there very well, the time together that we live adoring our Lord JESUS CHRIST and exalting his name.
