CHRISTIANNOTICE.COM.- The daughter of a stripper bought a venue in Alaska that worked as a nightclub and built a Baptist church there, reports Associated Press.
The Open Door Baptist Church is built on what was the Fantasies at 5th strip club.
Linda Dunegan, who owns the compound, gives God the glory after five years of prayers to obtain a place of her own for her church.
The new church, however, must deal with places that promote values other than Christianity (a marijuana store, a sex shop and some motels).
80 people attended the inauguration of the religious site, the church receives about 50 every Sunday.
Open Door Baptist Church’s mission statement shows that it wants to have a welcoming and supportive place for families.
The church opened its doors in October and is led by the Rev. Kenny Menendez.
The pastor moved to Anchorage in 2020, where the church is located, and stated that the Lord called him to lead this ministry.
