To live Lent
In order not to lose your way this Lent, you will find below 21 simple recommendations:
1. Try to be kind to the people you live with.
2. Make an effort to talk as a family about those matters that suit the family spirit.
3. Be attentive to your peers. And if you drive, do it Christianly.
4. Cut the hours of television and the time spent on social networks on the Internet. Instead, expand those of reflection and prayer.
5. Do some reading that will help you deepen your faith.
6. Control your appetites: sweets, soft drinks, tobacco, alcohol and be more free.
7. Spend some time daily reading the Word of God.
8. Fight against moodiness and sadness. Savor the beauty of life.
9. Pay more attention to people than to things. Especially, those who need it most: elderly, sick, needy. Treat them with love.
10. Share your money a little more with others who have less, at the expense of whims, trinkets, snacks, etc.
11. Improvement at work, aware of your Christian ideal.
12. Take care of nature as a gift from God, avoiding all mess and recycling plastic, cardboard and glass in their respective containers.
13. Avoid negative criticism, seeing and talking about the positive that you can discover in each other.
14. Reduce alcohol consumption and if someone close to you exceeds, help them to consider it and try to overcome the habit.
15. Foster peace around you. Do without anger, violence, bad manners, rudeness, insults, etc.
16. Participate more in the acts and celebrations of the Community and the Sacraments.
17. Tell the truth. Speak clearly, without hypocrisy or lies.
18. Try to make your loved ones happy, with your details and affection.
19. Reduce your smartphone usage time and minimize sending unnecessary WhatsApp messages.
20. Make a concrete purpose, the main sign of your Lenten exercise, of your first attention; and participates in all the Lenten and Easter celebrations.
21. If possible, make a Lenten retreat. Get quiet to meditate before the Lord and ask him what he wants from you, what he expects from you in your current circumstances.
