Ukrainians receive audio from the film ‘Jesus’ this Holy Week

CHRISTIANNEWS.COM.- The transmission of a new audiodrama of the film “Jesus”, which was scheduled for Easter on Trans World Radio, had to be reconsidered after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

In association with the Jesus Film Project, the dramatized audio version of the film was produced in multiple languages, using the film’s original audio in parts, reports Mission Network News.

“All the Easter transmissions were already planned and scheduled. The Jesus Film audio drama will be on more than 300 different channels around the world, in more than 80 languages,” said Brandon Neal, TWR executive.

Evangelism Opportunity

After the war in Ukraine, TWR and the Jesus Film Project saw an open door to evangelize Ukrainians.

“We were able, through this partnership, to translate the audio drama into the Russian and Ukrainian languages and we are already streaming them,” Neal noted.

He also explained that radio broadcasts go to Ukraine and neighboring countries. “We broadcast daily 15 minutes a day in Ukrainian and then 15 minutes in Russian. This will happen for six weeks straight,” she added.

“Let them hear the voice of God”

“The good thing about this is that a family, a soldier or anyone else will have the opportunity to hear about Jesus in the language of their heart, all this time. When the six weeks are over, we will think about the different broadcasts that were already scheduled,” he stated.

The Jesus Film audio drama airs in Ukraine at 20:00 local time. Also, Neal urges Christians around the world to be mindful of the time zone and pray for them (Ukrainians and Russians) before the broadcast.

“Pray and ask God to open the hearts and eyes of these people. Let them listen to the voice of God,” he said.

Finally, he added: “We can have faith that God is using these broadcasts, using the story of Jesus, who he is, what he has done and how much he loves us. God will use these things to draw people to Him,” he concluded.
