Users “prove” freedom on Twitter by citing the Bible

CHRISTIANNEWS.COM.- Less than 24 hours after billionaire Elon Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion, Twitter users decided to “test” the freedom of the platform, sharing opinions that would have previously been censored.

User tests included quoting the Bible, including verses previously tagged as “rape” on the microblog, or faith-based opinions, such as mentioning that God created man and woman.

The word “Bible” came to be among the main topics of the social network, with thousands of mentions in several languages, including verses and opinions about the holy book.

Users also commented on sensitive topics for Twitter, such as the use of Ivermectin in the early treatment of Covid-19, political opinions, and criticism against other social networks that censor opinions.

Pastor Geremias Couto was one of the users who shared an opinion to see if he would be censored by the platform. He resolved to challenge gender ideology, emphasizing that biology defines the sex of each individual, reports the site Pasando Hora.

Left

Some left-wing users criticized Elon Musk and tried to launch a user campaign on the platform, alleging that the freedom of expression defended by the billionaire was harmful.

The UOL website even taught users how to deactivate their account on “Elon Musk’s Twitter” and I was mocked by the president, Jair Bolsonaro. “Good story,” the president responded to UOL.
