VALUE WHAT WE HAVE
VALUE WHAT WE HAVE
“A boy complained one day to God and said:
– Lord, you have made everyone else rich, while you have given me nothing.
An old man, listening to his complaints, told him
– Are you as poor as you think? Has not God given you youth and health?
– Yes, it is true, and I am proud of it, said the boy.
Then the old man took him by the hand and said
– If I gave you a thousand dollars, would you let your right hand be cut off?
– No way!
– And the left?
– Either!
– And if I gave you a million dollars, would you do without your eyesight?
– God forbid! Not even for a fortune will I give one of my eyes
– So, what are you complaining about?, said the old man. Don’t you see the immense fortune that God has given you? So go, and don’t be ungrateful.
