Venezuela: Military corps honors the general who killed his wife

.- On Wednesday, in Venezuela, a new case of femicide occurred, after General Luis Felipe González Borjas murdered his wife and took his own life after an argument, reports Infobae.

The murder occurred in a military garrison at Fuerte Tiuna, located in Caracas (Venezuela).

The victim was identified as Andrina del Carmen Morales Quevedo, as reported by the journalist Román Camacho.

The neighbors said that the murder occurred when Andrina was preparing to leave the house in the middle of the discussion. The soldier tried to prevent her from leaving her and shot her.

Some media outlets said that the couple’s two children were hiding in the bathroom when the crime occurred.

González Borjas worked as general manager of the Air Navigation Services of the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics of Venezuela.

The military corps where the general worked paid tribute to him in a statement describing him as a “hard-working, revolutionary, loyal and committed man.”

Venezuelan journalists rejected the tribute without taking into account the cause of death.

According to NGO Justice and Peace Center (Cepaz) Venezuelan between January and August of this year at least 177 femicides have been registered in the country, according to the monitoring carried out in the media.
