What Christians need to know about masturbation

CHRISTIANNEWS.COM.- Christian singlehood brings with it a journey of wonderful experiences, however, some young people may feel the need to release sexual tension through masturbation.

In a world exposed to sexualization, even the staunchest Christian could be tempted to commit impure actions against his own body.

The Bible does not directly address the subject of masturbation, so some young people may try to take that path assuming it is not a sin, but is it okay to do so? The answer is no.

Masturbating is a sin for three reasons: It is not in God’s design for sex, masturbation involves lustful thoughts that taint our thoughts and drive us to have sex (even before marriage); furthermore, it shows little self-control, assuming that we prefer this act instead of seeking help from God.

What should we know about masturbation?

Masturbation does not replace intercourse with the love of a person’s life. Also, masturbating feeds on unhealthy desires that can lead people to addiction. The momentary pleasure of masturbation robs people of the true intimacy that God designed for them to indulge and enjoy.

Masturbation also develops a habit of sexual selfishness. “This means that the person may fall into the belief that he does not need her partner to achieve intimacy or orgasms, which in turn can lead to hostility and conflict within their marital relationship,” she reports. Crosswalk.

Avoiding masturbation is possible, we just have to pray to eliminate impure desires, read the Bible to disperse our minds from these temptations, get away from bad influences that support masturbation and become aware of what we are doing with our bodies.
