.- The verse John 3:16 shows us the basis of Christianity, that salvation is achieved by being born again through the Lord.
The verse says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but have eternal life.”
In the chapter where this verse is found, Jesus explains that in order to enter heaven, man must be born again.
This theme is raised by Jesus in a dialogue with Nicodemus, an important religious authority of the time.
Jesus told Nicodemus about Salvation: “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Nicodemus asked Jesus: How can an old man be born again? And the Lord explained to him:Truly, truly, I tell you, unless one is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 What is born of the flesh is flesh; and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not be amazed that I told you: You must be born again. 8 Wind[b] it blows where it wants, and you hear its sound; but you do not know where it comes from, nor where it goes; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.

Meaning
In Christianity, being born again means starting over living the life of Christ, reports Gospel Prime.
The Lord offers us the opportunity to be born again when we accept it.
The apostle Paul wrote that he no longer lived, but Christ now lived in him.
“I am crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me,” says Galatians 2:20.
What is it like to be born again?
Jesus was the first person to be born again. He was baptized in the Jordan River, and then God anointed or baptized him with holy spirit. Then, Jesus was reborn as his son through the holy spirit, with the hope of living again in heaven (Mark 1: 9-11). God fulfilled that hope when he resurrected him as a spirit being (Acts 13:33), reports jw.org.
Other people who are born again are also baptized in water before receiving the holy spirit (Acts 2:38, 41). By receiving it, they have the firm hope that they will live in heaven when God raises them up (1 Corinthians 15:42-49).
A person who is born again has the Lord present in his heart and mind.
Likewise, the person who decides to follow God leaves behind a life guided by his sinful desires, and begins to think about holiness.
