Despite the fact that he had stated on numerous occasions that he would never get sick or die, on November 16, 2013 he died of liver cirrhosis due to alcohol abuse. This generated such bewilderment in his followers, one of them even committed suicide.

In the new sect, Miranda’s wife now calls herself “Christ Lisbeth”, the reincarnation of the archangel Michael and mother Jerusalem is the new goddess.
The sect now affirms that those who believed that Miranda would not die fell into a deceitful power sent to them by “God” himself, José Luis de Jesús Miranda. That he could fall into a “lucubration that he took out in his flesh” and that now the new truth is with his mother-consort Lisbeth.
Finally, the new leader threatens all her followers that they will go to hell if they don’t believe in her.
