CHRISTIANNEWS.COM. – Charles Michael Palahniuk, an American freelance journalist and novelist, recently mocked God’s Word by saying that “The Bible lacks explicit sex scenes.
In an interview with World Today News about “The Day of Adjustment”, a sarcastic novel set in the US, divided into three “independent nations”, Caucasia (for whites), Negrotopia (for blacks) and Gaysia (for homosexuals), he said that “whenever great social changes take place, there is an absurd book that justifies them: the Bible, the ‘Communist Manifesto’, ‘Mein kampf’… ”.
When asked if we live in we live in cultures based on book religions. He said: They are texts that are used to justify what some guys do. They do not try to reason anything with arguments but to move, inspire faith. They make outright barbaric things seem fair. They are books that have sold to millions, also in the last 30 years, books that say what people want to hear.
“I always include strong physical elements in my novels. There are books with great intellectual and emotional appeal, but without physical appeal. There is no eroticism in Mein kampf, and the Bible lacks explicit sex scenes, it would be much better with them. My books do have a physical and sensual part, so that the reader connects on that level”.
Palahniuk also believes that addict groups like Narcotics Anonymous are the new religions. “Recovery groups are the new religious meeting places. People went to church because they had problems, there they met people with similar problems, and that’s how the civil rights movements started, leaders like Martin Luther King found them in church.”
“Today, people have left the traditional churches and find a similar function in the meetings of addicts to sex, spending, alcohol, drugs, anger… It would not surprise me at all if new political movements emerged from there” .
Apparently the writer is an atheist because he has a hostile opinion against God, quotes from him say: All God does is look at us and kill us when we get bored. We should never ever be boring. Maybe the humans are just the pet alligators, that God flushed down the toilet. Perhaps it is our sins that give God comfort, when he finally has to give us cancer.
