Such was the wisdom of Jesus Christ, that during one of his oratories a Pharisee defiantly asked him what is your greatest commandment?, and he replied: you will love God above all things.
East commandment It constitutes the basis of the Decalogue of Godwhich responds to the need that man has to believe, love and feel security in someone superior who offers him protection.
To love means to dedicate, to serve and to listen to those who are loved, therefore by opening our hearts, souls and minds seeking to love Godwe allow him to act through our being, to put into practice his truth, his justice and his will in our environment.
Let us remember that Jesus Christ made man lived among us for the will of his father, thus he gave us love, and left us a teaching: you will love God above all things.
The most important thing for every Christian is that loving God will love the neighborrespecting his will and just as Jesus Christ loved us, we love him.
How to love God?
To love God in our lives does not mean crying out for him, thinking about him or repenting only when we have problems or practicing his word just to fulfill.
Loving God implies sacrificing interests or tastes, and live right fulfilling his mandate faithfully, recognizing it as the creator of all that exists, believing in his word and deed, fulfilling his will loving the neighbor, praying, asking and thanking him everything we need and have.
We must also stay away from actions that contradict Christian virtues such as superstition in objects or words, the desecration of temples, idolizing false gods, the invocation of hidden forces and doubting or denying the existence of God.
When you faithfully keep the commandments in your heart and love your neighbor you will love God above all things.
